I think this is serious and not funny. This joke could be harmful even though he just did that. The reason it could be a harmful joke is because he could end up getting in big trouble with the cops.It could also be harmful because he should not be doing that.

Because they want people to think that they are so cool and not scared. You could end up in jail or even community service. I don't think  hacking can ever be good and ethical.You can also get a really big fine.
